Space symposium

Space Symposium is an annual event at "The Broadmoor" hotel in Colorado Springs , Colorado , USA , with the theme of space. In 2016, 12,000 people came to the exhibitions, speeches and discussions, which were sponsored and attended by 189 companies. For the first 29 years the event was called the “National Space Symposium”, but was renamed “Space Symposium” in 2014 to reflect global interest. In addition, the prestige prizes are awarded there every year.

Space Certification

target

The Space Foundation's Certified Space Technology program aims to create and expand awareness of the benefits of space technology for normal commercial purposes on Earth. Products and services that have been awarded the seal come from or are technologies that were actually invented for space travel . This is to show the importance and usefulness of space technologies in people's everyday lives. The Certified Space Technology seal is also intended to offer partners a market advantage.

Categories of certified products

"Certified Technology Product"

These products or services are a direct result of space technologies or developments from space travel, i.e. a product that can only exist in this form through space research. Examples are Outlast latent heat storage and GPS (more examples below in the tables marked with * ). This certificate covers the largest group of products and services.

"Certified Educational Product"

These products are used in educational systems to promote interest in space. This promotion of education is particularly important to the Space Foundation, as it familiarizes the new generations with the technologies. For example, playful rocket simulation programs, or models, as well as educational games and space exploration with a full schedule are certified. (more examples below in the tables with an ** in )

"Certified Imagination Product"

This certification mostly carries entertainment and toy products that are supposed to make space and research look exciting. These include children's books that are supposed to excite with stories. (more examples below in the tables with an *** in )
