The Sparkasse Südwestpfalz is a Rhineland-Palatinate savings bank based in Pirmasens . It is an institution under public law and was created until 2002 from the merger of the Kreissparkassen Pirmasens and Zweibrücken and the Stadtsparkasse Zweibrücken.

history

The Sparkasse Südwestpfalz emerged from three formerly independent institutes:

  • Stadtsparkasse Zweibrücken (founded 1835)
  • Kreissparkasse Pirmasens (founded 1863)
  • Kreissparkasse Zweibrücken (founded 1884)

First, on November 1, 1999, the Kreissparkasse Pirmasens merged with the Kreissparkasse Zweibrücken to form the Sparkasse Südwestpfalz Pirmasens-Zweibrücken. On January 1, 2002, the Sparkasse Südwestpfalz Pirmasens-Zweibrücken merged with the Stadtsparkasse Zweibrücken to form the current Sparkasse Südwestpfalz.
