The Sparkasse Westerwald-Sieg is a Rhineland-Palatinate savings bank based in Bad Marienberg . It is an institution under public law and was created on June 1, 2015 from the merger of the Kreissparkassen Altenkirchen and Westerwald.

history
The Kreissparkasse Altenkirchen started its business operations on January 2, 1858 in a shop on Kölner Strasse in Altenkirchen. The Kreissparkasse Oberwesterwald was founded on January 1, 1891, followed by the Unterwesterwald district savings bank on November 2, 1900.
As part of the territorial reform in Rhineland-Palatinate, the districts of Upper and Lower Westerwald were united on March 17, 1974. This led to the fact that on December 22, 1976 the district council of the Westerwaldkreis decided to merge the two savings banks. On August 1, 1977, the merged Kreissparkasse Westerwald emerged from the Kreissparkasse Oberwesterwald and the Kreissparkasse Unterwesterwald .
The Kreissparkasse Westerwald finally merged on June 1, 2015 with the Kreissparkasse Altenkirchen to form the Sparkasse Westerwald-Sieg .
