The Sparkasse Worms-Alzey-Ried is a Rhineland-Palatinate savings bank based in Worms . It is an institution under public law and was created on September 1, 2003 from the merger of the Kreissparkasse Alzey with the Sparkasse Worms.

This makes it one of only eight savings banks in Germany whose business area crosses national borders. The Sparkasse is run by the Zweckverband Sparkasse Worms-Alzey-Ried , to which the city of Worms, the district of Alzey-Worms and the Zweckverband Mittelzentrum Ried (formed by the southern Hessian municipalities Biblis, Bürstadt, Groß-Rohrheim and Lampertheim) belong. The legal basis is the Sparkasse Act for Rhineland-Palatinate and the Sparkasse's statutes. The organs of the Sparkasse are the administrative board and the executive board .
The Sparkasse Worms-Alzey-Ried is a member of the Sparkasse Association Rhineland-Palatinate and through this also in the German Savings Banks and Giro Association .

history
The city council of Worms first decided on July 6, 1838 to found a savings bank for the Worms district. Business operations began on December 5, 1838. On January 1, 1942, the municipal savings bank merged with the District Savings Bank Worms founded in 1913 (which was converted into a district savings bank in 1941) to form the "District and Stadtsparkasse Worms".
The Sparkasse Worms-Alzey-Ried was created on September 1, 2003 from the merger of the Kreissparkasse Alzey with the Sparkasse Worms.
