St. Lucie Village is a city in St. Lucie County in the US state of Florida with 590 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

St. Lucie Village is located on the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River , which forms part of the Intracoastal Waterway . The city is about 100 km north of West Palm Beach .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 590 inhabitants were distributed over 284 households. The population density was 281 inh. / Km². 95.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.9% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 1.7% said they belonged to several ethnic groups. 4.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 29.6% of all households lived in 23.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 63.5% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.27 people and the average family size was 2.69 people.

19.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 16.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 38.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 26.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 50 years. 49.7% of the population were male and 50.3% were female.

The median annual income was $ 55,313, with 6.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 96.64% of the population and 3.36% spoke Spanish .

On December 1, 1989, the St. Lucie Village Historic District was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .

St. Lucie Village is affected by US Highway 1 and crossed by the Florida East Coast Railway . A few kilometers to the west is the St. Lucie County International Airport .
