View from the Großer Mannstein am Staufen over Kelkheim, Liederbach , Eschborn to Frankfurt ; to the left behind the Frankfurt skyline is the Staudinger power plant in front of the silhouette of the Spessart .

A little to the east of the summit of the Staufen you come across the Großer Mannstein , a rock group from which the view towards Großer Feldberg and the towns of Fischbach , Hornau , Kelkheim Münster , Schneidhain etc. fall in between. Here a plaque commemorates the "Staufen oath" of the von Gagern brothers (see Ringwall Staufen ). The former summer house of the Frankfurt geologist Albert von Reinach (1842–1905) stood about 100 meters away until 1987 , after which it was an inn for many years and ultimately a hiking home for the Taunus Club . Furthermore, a forester's house until 1999 , the area of which was planted in autumn 2000 by the German Forest Protection Association and the German Forest Youth .

The Kleine Mannstein is located southeast below it .

The imperial temple and the Mendelssohn memorial stone are located on the western flank of the mountain with the Martinswand . Both offer views of Eppstein and the Eichelberger Mark .

The Sauer Cross stands on the southern slope of the Staufen, on the way from Eppstein to Gimbacher Hof in Kelkheim (Amtsbotenweg) . The stone cross is associated with a probably legendary attack by the robber Schinderhannes (1779–1803).
