Stegelitz belongs to the village of Lüderitz and is a district of the town of Tangerhütte in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

geography

The small Altmark village of Stegelitz is located three kilometers north of Tangerhütte and is enclosed in the west and south by the Tangier River .

history

Stegelitz is an originally Wendish settled church village , which was first mentioned in 1197.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1974, the municipality of Stegelitz was incorporated into the municipality of Lüderitz. On May 31, 2010 the district of Stegelitz came to the new town of Tangerhütte through the merger of Lüderitz with the other municipalities of the administrative community Tangerhütte-Land .

Culture and sights

The Stegelitz village church is a field stone church from the late 13th century. It is a branch church of the parish Groß Schwarzlosen .
