Uchtdorf is a district of the town of Tangerhütte in the south of the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Uchtdorf is located on the Tangier river immediately east of the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide on the southern edge of the Altmark . The flat area around Uchtdorf is characterized by the Tangier spring brooks flowing in a fan shape towards the north. The district of Börde borders the west and south of the Uchtdorf district . Tangerhütte is only four kilometers from Uchtdorf.
history
The place, which was probably originally inhabited by Wendish , was first mentioned in a document in 1305. The Uchtdorf field stone church dates from the 13th century (expanded in 1720, with headlights since 1998). There is evidence of a pastor and sexton for 1600 and a teacher in Uchtdorf for 1768.
The watermill (Tangermühle) was first mentioned in 1610. In addition to agriculture, handicrafts also played a role in Uchtdorf in the past, and there was also a timber trading company. Some residents worked as ironworkers in the ironworks built in the middle of the 19th century in neighboring Vaethen (renamed Tangerhütte in 1928). After the road to Vaethen was built (1896), a steam dairy and brickworks were established at the beginning of the 19th century .
On May 31, 2010, Uchtdorf merged with the other municipalities of the Tangerhütte-Land administrative community to form the new town of Tangerhütte.

- Graves in the local cemetery for four unknown concentration camp prisoners from a death march from the Dora-Mittelbau concentration camp , who were murdered in April 1945 on the road to Mahlwinkel , buried in various places and only buried here in 1947
Economy and Infrastructure
There are some tradespeople based in Uchtdorf (tiler, electrical installation company, car dealership, auto mechanic, drywall and a metal construction company).
As part of the village renewal, the village community center with sports and leisure center, two garages for the volunteer fire brigade and doctor's room have been expanded, sidewalks and streets have been newly built or redesigned and the street lighting has been renewed.
The volunteer fire brigade as well as the sports club and rural women’s club shape community life; they are the sponsors of village, children's and sports festivals.
traffic
From Uchtdorf country roads lead to Tangerhütte, to Dolle on the federal road 189 , to Mahlwinkel and to Rogätz an der Elbe (ferry). Regular buses and on-call buses run by Regionalverkehr Westsachsen (RVW) under the brand name stendalbus . The nearest train stations are in Tangerhütte and Mahlwinkel on the Magdeburg – Wittenberge railway line .
