Stegschänke , Pśidrozna Kjarcma in Lower Sorbian , is a residential area in Werchow , a district of the town of Calau in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in Brandenburg . The settlement originally belonged to the municipality of Cabel , which was incorporated into Werchow on January 1, 1957.

The Stegschänke is located in Niederlausitz and is part of the official settlement area of ​​the Sorbs / Wends . Surrounding villages are Werchow in the north, Plieskendorf in the northeast, Weißag , Zwietow and Gosda in the south and Cabel in the west. To the east of the Stegschänke are the Wienerberger gravel pit and the Buchwäldchen brickworks. To the north of the settlement is the source of the Göritzer Fließ , also known as the gold spring , and to the west is the Lugteich .

history

The Stegschänke settlement was created as a tavern for the Cabel manor. From 1816 it was part of the Calau district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg . According to the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Frankfurt adO from 1844, the Stegschänke had five residents. In 1867 the settlement had four residents.

After the Second World War , the municipality of Cabel with the Stegschänke still belonged to the Calau district, which was renamed Senftenberg in 1950 and dissolved on July 25, 1952 as part of the GDR district reform. After that, the place belonged to the district of Calau in the district of Cottbus . On January 1, 1957, Cabel was incorporated with Stegschänke after Werchow . After reunification , the Stegschänke was in the Calau district in Brandenburg. This went up in December 1993 in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district. The municipality Werchow was incorporated into Calau on October 26th, 2003, with which the Stegschänke also came to Calau.
