Haus Steinweg 9 is a listed building in the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

The half-timbered house stands at the confluence of Weberstrasse and Steinweg in the historic Neustadt Quedlinburg and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

Architecture and history

The three-storey building was built around 1650 and is noticeable due to the unusually designed corner situation. The upper floors protrude at the corner over the entrance door on the ground floor. The basement was renovated in massive construction around 1880 and provided with a pilaster structure.

The facade design has pyramid beam heads and burr cut ship throats . The northern wing along Weberstrasse was created in 1688 by the carpenter Andreas Besen according to an inscription on it ( MA BESEN ) . Here, too, there are pyramid beam heads. In addition, there are parapet planks , profiled filler wood and flat ship valleys on the sleepers . On the courtyard side there is a richly profiled door in the Renaissance style .
