Stephan Kreuzmann (born May 24, 1984 in Duisburg ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with Moskitos Essen from the major league since 2018 .

Career

Kreuzmann made his first experiences with the game of puck and bat through his father, who played in a hobby team in Duisburg. Stephan Kreuzmann comes from the offspring of the Krefeld Penguins , with whom he learned to play ice hockey and went through the youth teams up to the DNL team. At the age of sixteen he moved to Cologne to play with the Kölner Junghaien in the Regionalliga - in the 2000/01 season he was champion of the Regionalliga NRW with the Junghaien . Two years followed in the DNL, ​​again in the junior team of the penguins from Krefeld. A first career highlight followed in 2002; participation in the U-18 world championship in Slovakia with the German junior national team .

In the following season , Stephan Kreuzmann celebrated his DEL debut, but spent the majority of the season with a funding license in his hometown at EV Duisburg . The same applies to the 2003/04 season , but he did not play a game for the penguins. Looking for a new challenge, Kreuzmann then joined the EHC Leipziger Eislöwen in the summer of 2004 , which were then active in the Oberliga Nord-Ost, where he regularly got ice ages. Due to his performances shown in Leipzig and the fact that he still fell under the Ü23 regulation , the Dresden Ice Lions signed him in the summer of 2005 for their first Bundesliga season . In his first year in Dresden he showed promising approaches and was able to push seasoned defenders like Sjarhej Stas out of the regular formation. Therefore, his contract was extended for the 2006/07 season, in which he was still considered a U23 player.

After the ice lions relegated to the league, Kreuzmann moved to REV Bremerhaven from the 2007/08 season with a production license from the Hannover Scorpions . Here he was retired after 25 games, but reinstated a short time later. In the summer of 2008 he moved to the Netherlands, where he plays for the Nijmegen Devils . At the end of the 2008/09 season he returned to Germany and signed a contract with the upper division EHC Dortmund. There he met the coach Frank Gentges , under whom he had already played during his time in Leipzig.

Others

In the summer, Stephan Kreuzmann plays inline skater hockey to keep himself fit and has played for the Duisburg Ducks and currently (2011) for the Uedesheim Chiefs in the 1st Bundesliga. In autumn 2003 he took part with the U20 national team in the U20-4 national tournament in Hamar ( Norway ).
