Postcard from Schirrhoffen with synagogue

The synagogue in Schirrhoffen , a French commune in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region , was built in 1817/18. The synagogue was at 7 rue des Huttes.

Due to the emigration of most of the Jewish residents, regular services could no longer be held from the 1920s . In 1930 the synagogue was up for sale, but this was never completed.

In 1945 it was burned down during the fighting towards the end of World War II . In 1959 the ruin was demolished and a house was built on the property.
