Synagogue (Schirmeck)
The synagogue in Schirmeck , a French commune in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region , was built in 1908/09. The synagogue on Rue des Écoles has been classified as a Monument historique since 1999 .
history
The synagogue was built by the Strasbourg architects David Falk and Emil Wolf . The German emperor donated 7,000 marks (ℳ) to build the synagogue . The community of Schirmeck had also made a contribution.
Due to the few Jewish families, the synagogue has not been used for church services since 1978 . The building was renovated in 2005/06.
