Synagogue (Obernai)

history
The synagogue built in 1876 in the area of the medieval city fortifications had to replace the predecessor synagogue, which had become too small. The synagogue takes up neo-Romanesque style elements, as was common at the time. There is a rose window above the portal and the main facade is framed by two slender corner risers . Inside there are neo-Romanesque capitals .
During the Second World War , the synagogue was profaned by the German occupiers . From 1948 it was used again for church services.
