history

The synagogue in Sarre-Union was built in 1839/40 according to the plans of the architect Robin Alexis . During the German occupation in World War II , the synagogue was profaned and badly damaged by artillery fire. After 1945 the synagogue had to be completely renovated.

There is a classical gable above the entrance portal and an oculus above it . The high arched windows give the interior a lot of light.
