Ted W. Brown

Ted W. Brown (born April 19, 1906 , † August 20, 1984 in Columbus , Ohio ) was an American politician ( Republican Party ). He began his political career in 1933 when he was elected Clark County Recorder - a post he held two terms. In 1950 he was first elected Secretary of State of Ohio. Brown was re-elected eight times in a row. In his tenth reelection candidacy, he suffered a defeat to the Democrat Anthony J. Celebrezze junior . He held the post from 1951 to 1979. He was defeated in the 1964 Republican primary for a seat in the US Senate . Brown was survived by his wife and three daughters.
