action
In a post-apocalyptic future, disease killed 98 percent of all children in the United States, and the two percent who survived developed supernatural powers that they cannot control. As a result, the youngsters classified as dangerous are crammed into a camp and those who escape are hunted down by the government. The 16-year-old Ruby Daly, who is considered "the most dangerous" and who had been handed over to the authorities for rehabilitation by her parents years earlier, manages to escape from the Camp Thurmond internment camp. She runs into a group of other young people who are also hiding from the government. They are led by Liam, who tries to show them how to use their powers effectively.
After initial hesitation, the group trusts Ruby and learns of her powers. Liam begins to fall in love with Ruby, but is afraid to kiss him, as any contact with her is dangerous due to her powers. After Ruby has stopped a contract killer to protect the group, the team sets off to the "refugee" s camp, where it should be safe for her. Once there, they get to know the refugee: Clancy, the president's son. Since he has the same powers as Ruby, they begin to train these powers together, but this affects their relationship with Liam. When Clancy turns out to be angry, the children have to flee. In order to help her group to escape, Ruby engages in a fight with the president's son, in which, however, group member Chubs is seriously injured. To save him, Ruby contacts a member of the "League", which trains children to be fighters.
Although Liam fled this camp earlier, he agrees to return there with Ruby to save Chubs. Once there, they are separated and Liam is locked up. Ruby offers to join the League if Liam is released in return. Since he refuses because of his feelings for Ruby, she is erased from his memories. Liam then leaves the camp.

The film service judges: “An epic dystopian science fiction film based on a five-part youth novel series, which uses superficial adventures to distract from the impending apocalypse and hardly touches on existential problems. Numerous nebulous storylines are initiated without completing a coherent story. "
