Thorsten Schick (born May 19, 1990 in Graz ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder and defender .
Career
society
Schick began his active career as a football player in 1996 in the youth division of the Styrian club SK Sturm Graz . He went through all of the club's youth selections and was used from the 2006/07 season for the Graz U-19 team in the Austrian U-19 youth league. In his first season he completed 15 of the 24 championship games. He also made six appearances for the Sturm amateurs this season. In the following 2007/08 season , Schick came under the then coach Hannes Reinmayr to his first longer assignments in the amateur team of SK Sturm Graz in the third-class Austrian regional league middle . He completed 28 of 30 league games and scored three goals. In the 2008/09 season Schick came to 25 championship games and two goals.
At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he moved to FC Gratkorn in the second-class first division. With the Gratkornern he came in the first round on July 14, 2009 in a 1-1 home game against First Vienna FC 1894 for the entire duration of the game. In the autumn championship he was used in 16 league games and gave one assist. He was also in action in the second round of the 2009/10 ÖFB Cup against the Red Bull Juniors Salzburg . On January 21, 2011, Schick moved to SCR Altach . On July 15, 2011 he scored his first goal in the Altacher dress in the game against TSV Hartberg ; it was also his first goal in the second highest Austrian division. In June 2012 he joined FC Admira / Wacker . In August 2014 he returned to SK Sturm Graz and signed a three-year contract.
For the 2016/17 season he moved to Switzerland to BSC Young Boys , where he received a contract that ran until June 2017. The term was automatically extended by one year in February 2017, as he had played his 25th mission in a competitive game. After the 2018/19 season he left BSC Young Boys and moved back to Austria for SK Rapid Vienna , where he received a contract that ran until June 2022.
National team
In 2009, Schick was part of the Austrian U-20 national team. For this he completed three games; He made his team debut on August 12, 2009 in a game against the Swiss U-20 national football team.
