Tomáš Surový (born September 24, 1981 in Banská Bystrica , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been playing for HC 05 Banská Bystrica from the Slovakian extra league since May 2016 .
Career
After his youth at SK Iskra Banská Bystrica , the 1.83 m tall center played in the Slovakian extra league . At the 2001 NHL Entry Draft , the Slovak rookie of the year 2000/01 was selected ( drafted ) as 120th in the fourth round by the Pittsburgh Penguins .
First, the links contactors in was Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins , the AHL - farm team of the franchises from Pennsylvania , are used. His first NHL missions completed Surový in the 2002/03 season , after four seasons with the Penguins, he finally moved to Luleå HF. In the 2006/07 season he was the team's top scorer with 55 points.
In the summer of 2007 he signed a contract with the Phoenix Coyotes , but then stayed in Sweden with Linköpings HC . In the 2009/10 season he played for Skellefteå AIK before moving to Dinamo Rigain in 2010, the Continental Hockey League . After a year for Dinamo, he moved to HK CSKA Moscow together with his head coach Július Šupler .
From May 2012 he was under contract with HC Lev Prague and completed a total of 55 games for the KHL newcomer before he was signed by HK Dinamo Minsk in June 2013 . For Dinamo Minsk he collected 24 scorer points in 50 games this season before he moved to HC Slovan Bratislava within the KHL in June 2014 . For Slovan, he completed over 110 KHL games and was also used at HC 05 Banská Bystrica in spring 2015 . In the 2015/16 season he was also the team captain of his team. In May 2016 he moved permanently to HC 05 Banská Bystrica.
International
For the Slovak national ice hockey team Tomáš Surový played the World Championships in 2006 , 2007 , 2009 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 , and he was also on the ice at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin . Before that, he had already played in the Slovak junior national teams.
