Tourism award of the state of Brandenburg
The Brandenburg State Tourism Prize was launched in 2000 on the initiative of the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics in cooperation with TMB (Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg GmbH) and was awarded for the first time in 2001.
The prize for creative tourism offers or innovative services and marketing in tourism is intended to give tourism professionals an additional boost and to reward exemplary projects.
Award criteria and price categories
Criteria for the selection of the tourism award should be innovation , originality, market and customer proximity as well as economic potential. A jury made up of tourism experts from various institutions and companies will decide on the award.
As a rule, three prizes were awarded between 2002 and 2006, endowed with 2,500 euros for the first, 1,500 euros for the second and 1,000 euros for the third prize. In 2006 the state of Brandenburg awarded two third prizes. The two third-place winners shared the prize money. In 2007, the state reorganized the price system and replaced the placements with three categories with a specific content, which are equal to one another and each endowed with 2,000 euros. In 2008 only two categories were awarded. In 2009 - as before 2007 - a first, second and third place was determined.

1st place: Havelländische Musikfestspiele - For 15 years the Havelländische Musikfestspiele have been staging magical moments in special locations for their audiences. In around 40 concerts and readings each year, internationally known artists around the festival director Frank Wasser present top-class music and literature.
2nd place: Resort Mark Brandenburg in Neuruppin - For Matthias Kleber, head chef of the resort, enjoyment is the main idea of his consistent kitchen philosophy. He only uses fresh products from producers in the region. In the “cooking school” and at the local producers, guests can experience firsthand what Brandenburg tastes and smells like.
3rd place: Kulturhof Breetz - Brigitte and Horst Oppenhäuser have created a refuge with their Kulturhof in the tiny village of Breetz in the UNESCO Elbe-Brandenburg River Landscape Biosphere Reserve and enable their guests to "try country life".

1st place: Hotelbetriebsgesellschaft Schloss Lübbenau mbH: “Experience Castle Lübbenau” - A coherent overall experience in the middle of the natural and cultural landscape of the UNESCO Spreewald Biosphere Reserve .
2nd place: Storchenclub Rühstädt e. V .: Rühstädter stork celebration evening - a two-hour adventure tour "Rühstädter stork celebration evening" through the European stork village Rühstädt , during which a unique natural spectacle can be observed.
3rd place: Tourismusverband Seenland Oder-Spree e. V .: Bike tour “Adler meets Zander” - The 40 km long bike tour “Adler meets Zander” along the Scharmützel and Storkow lakes , where you can enjoy not only the wonderful landscape by the water, but also freshly caught fish.

1st place: The Uckermark picnic basket Fugger response - picnicking around the village of Groß Fredenwalde with regional Uckermark products as a combination of nature, culture and gastronomy.

Price category "Product and Services" : Spreewald Sagennacht - the professional cooperation between the Burg Office (Spreewald) , the Spree-Neisse district and the Cottbus State Theater convey stories and myths of the Spreewald in a modern and high-quality way and combine the landscape in a sensual way - and cultural experience in the Spreewald, according to the jury's statement.
"Advertising / communication / public relations" award category : Marketing for historic city centers - The award recognizes the success of the "Cities with historic city centers" working group , which has been developing tourism marketing into a second mainstay of its activities since 2002, alongside renovating the old town.

Price category "Distribution / Sales / Product Promotion" : WM-Baden in the TURM Erlebniscity in Oranienburg - the project created an economically realistic and exciting alternative to the football World Cup and established it as an attractive destination for tourists and locals in the region.
