The Toyota TF104 was the third Formula 1 - racing cars of Toyota Racing . The car designed by Gustav Brunner took part in 11 of 18 races in the 2004 Formula 1 season , was driven by the Brazilian Cristiano da Matta and the French Olivier Panis and achieved fifth place as the best result (Panis at the US Grand Prix ). For the remaining nine races, the car revised by Mike Gascoyne , with the designation TF104B , was used, which was driven by the Brazilians Cristiano da Matta and Ricardo Zonta , the French Olivier Panis, and the Italian Jarno Trulli . As best result was with the new car an eighth place retracted (Panis at the Grand Prix of Belgium ) - which ended the team in its third season, the constructors' championship with 9 points on the eighth of ten. The V10 motor RVX-04 was used for both the TF104 and the TF104B . The tires came from Michelin .
