Tres Cruces is a place in northern Argentina . It is located in the extreme northwest of the Quebrada de Humahuaca near the point at which it merges into the Puna . With an altitude of 3693 m above sea level, it is one of the highest places in the Jujuy province and the country.

Before the closure of the railway line between La Quiaca and San Salvador de Jujuy, Tres Cruces was important as a transfer station for the ores extracted from the El Aguilar mine south of the town. Today, the town's largest employer is a major customs post where traffic coming from Bolivia is controlled. Because of this loss of importance, the population of the place decreased between 1991 and 2001 by 68%.

The panorama of the place is dominated by a mountain range called Espinazo del Diablo , which has an unusual shape, defined by several almost perfectly semicircular sediment deposits. In this mountain formation there is also an archaeological site with cave paintings.
