Union Internationale des Vélodromes
The Union Internationale des Vélodromes (UIV) was an international association in which the operators of cycle tracks and the organizers of commercial track cycling events were organized.
The association was founded in 1956 and was called Union Européenne des Vélodromes d'hiver (UEVH) until 1976 . The purpose of the association was to coordinate a racing calendar for track cycling events, usually six-day races , and to represent the interests of the six-day event organizers vis-à-vis the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). From 1991 to 2015, was Dane Henrik Elmgreen President of UIV until it by the then head of the Bremer Peter Rengel, head of ÖVB Arena and organizer of the Bremen Six Day Race was replaced in this function.
In addition, the association published annual statistics on the successes and placings of drivers in six-day races, which was published for the 19th time in 2011.
From 2003, the UIV organized the UIV Cup , a young talent competition for six-day drivers, which was held as part of six-day races.
