Universal Products is a South African manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1999 in Kempton Park . Initially, various products made of fiberglass and pendants were created . This also included bodies for racing cars . Later the production of racing cars began. Road vehicles followed, marketed as Universal .

It is unclear whether there is a connection to Venom Cars from Boksburg , which offered some models of the same name until 2009.

The company itself first wrote in 2007 that it was producing replicas of the Lola T 70 racing car . The brand name for this is DAW . One source states that production was taken over by a company called DAW .

The company has been calling replicas of street sports cars since 2008. Their brand name is Universal. At first it was the Porsche 356 as a Speedster and the Porsche 718 . Also on offer is a Lotus Seven- style vehicle called the Millennium 7 , designed by Chris Carstens and Kobus van der Walt. A source says the Millennium 7 is being sold under the Millennium brand , which the company doesn't confirm.

In June 2016, the range consisted of the DAW T 70 Mk. III B , DAW T 70 Mk. II Spyder , 356 Speedster , 356 Coupé , 550 Spyder , RSK 718 Spyder , Millennium 7 and the VW buggy Salamander .
