Volkspares is an automobile company from South Africa .

description

The company was founded in 1977 in Boksburg . In 1986 the production of automobiles and kit cars began . The brand name was Volkspares . The company produced 40 complete vehicles in 2000, 47 in the following year and 60 in 2002. For 2003, 20 complete vehicles and 15 kits have been delivered. Production ended in 2010, according to a source. But it is still active in the tuning industry.

Models

The first model was the VW buggy Lolette Beach Buggy . The chassis of the VW Beetle formed the basis. An open, doorless body was mounted on it. Various Volkswagen engines with a capacity of 1600 cc and 52 hp , 1800 cc, 2000 cc and 2300 cc capacity were available. Another source states that the chassis was shortened, the body was made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic , and a turbocharger was available for the most powerful engine . Replicas of the Porsche 356 as Speedster, Porsche 550 as Spyder and the AC Cobra were in the range until 2003.

In 2004 Volkspares offered the Hot Rod Hawg with a Harley-Davidson engine . There is evidence that the model was designed and produced in the USA , so Volkspares only imported it.
