Vellinghausen is a district of Meschede in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis in Germany .

geography

The place is about five kilometers south of Meschede above the Hennetalsperre .

history

In the old days there were three farms in Vellinghausen. One of the farms was no longer listed as an independent farm in 1599 and was later managed by one of the remaining farms. The place belonged to the parish and community of Remblinghausen until the end of 1974 . On January 1, 1975, Vellinghausen was incorporated into the city of Meschede.
