history

The Verbandsgemeinde Alsenz-Obermoschel was re-established as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate functional and territorial reform that began in the 1960s on the basis of the Thirteenth State Law on Administrative Simplification in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate of March 1, 1972, which came into force on April 22 1972.

Previously, the administrative structures originating from the Bavarian Palatinate (1816–1946) essentially applied in the then administrative district of Palatinate .

1 January 2020 Alsenz-Obermoschel was Verbandsgemeinde Rockhausen the municipality Nordpfälzer country merged.

The B 420 ( Kusel - Oppenheim ) and from south to north the B 48 ( Rockenhausen - Bad Kreuznach ) run through the area of ​​the Verbandsgemeinde from southwest to northeast .
