Veronika Morscher (born June 1, 1991 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian singer-songwriter and jazz singer .

Live and act

Morscher, who grew up in Lauterach (Vorarlberg) , received basic musical training at an early age. From the age of 14 she received singing lessons. In 2007 she was one of the winners of the Marianne Mendt Jazz Festival in St. Pölten , where a recording of her version of the song Night and Day was made for the festival CD. After taking voice lessons with Aja Zischg-Eberle at the Dornbirn Jazz Seminar and graduating from the Bundesgymnasium Blumenstrasse in Bregenz in 2009, she moved to Boston , where she performed jazz singing at the Berklee College of Music studied. After completing her bachelor's degree in autumn 2012, she continued her master's degree at the Conservatory of the Private University of Vienna and at the Cologne University of Music and Dance .

In 2013, accompanied by her international band, the recordings for her debut album My Heart On a String took place in the USA; The trio album Shadow Loves the Sun followed in 2015 . She is also on the albums Calling on Everyone from Michael Merrett (2011) and The Duality Perspective by Ralph Peterson heard (2012). In 2014/2015 she was the 1st soprano in the Bundesjazzorchester ( Groove and the Abstract Truth , 2016). In 2017 she received a recognition award for her composition River, Show No Mercy at the “Kulturpreis Vorarlberg” award . She also worked with Ines Reiger , Emil Spányi , Heinz von Hermann , Peter Hedrich and Agnes Heginger . She is a member of the vocal ensemble Of Cabbages and Kings with Sabeth Pérez (or Zola Mennenöh ), Rebekka Ziegler and Laura Totenhagen .
