In the administrative community Arendsee-Kalbe in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in the northwest of the state of Saxony-Anhalt , 17 communities were united until December 31, 2009. The seat of the administrative community was the town of Arendsee (Altmark) .

The administrative community was created on January 1, 2005 through the amalgamation of the dissolved administrative communities Kalbe (Milde) and Arendsee / Altmark and the surrounding area, as well as the communities of Brunau, Jeetze, Packebusch and Vienau from the dissolved Altmark-Mitte administrative community .

On January 1st, 2009 the communities Altmersleben , Güssefeld , Kahrstedt , Neuendorf am Damm , Wernstedt and Winkelstedt were incorporated into Kalbe (Milde), the number of member communities decreased from 23 to 17.

Extensive area changes took place on January 1, 2010. This created the two unified communities Kalbe (Milde) and Arendsee (Altmark). The administrative community was dissolved in this course. The communities of Binde , Höwisch , Kaulitz , Kerkau , Kläden , Kleinau , Leppin , Neulingen , Sanne-Kerkuhn , Schrampe , Thielbeer and Ziemendorf were incorporated into the town of Arendsee (Altmark) . Binde, Kaulitz and Kerkau were previously member communities of the Salzwedel-Land administrative community . The communities Brunau , Engersen , Jeetze , Packebusch , Kakerbeck and Vienau became districts of the town of Kalbe (Milde) .
