Binde is a village and part of the town of Arendsee (Altmark) in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The Altmark parish village of Binde is located around seven kilometers west of the Arendsee and 17 kilometers east of the district town of Salzwedel on the B 190 . The Flötgraben flows south of the village. The Röthenberg lies in the northeast.

history
Binde was first mentioned in 1184 as Binden , when Margrave Otto left some villages to the Arendsee nunnery . In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the place is listed as a band . In 1378 the place is called Bynda .
The place belonged to the Arendsee Monastery in the Middle Ages .
Left and right of the path to Kläden at the foot of the Röthenberg was a windmill . The mill farms have been preserved.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1950, the municipality of binding was from the district Osterburg in Salzwedel reclassified. On January 1, 1974, Ritzleben was incorporated.
On June 24th, 2009, the municipal council of the municipality of Binde decided to incorporate it into the town of Arendsee (Altmark) through an agreement to change the area. The contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.
After the previously independent municipality of Binde was incorporated, Binde and Ritzleben became districts of the town of Arendsee (Altmark). The local constitution was introduced for Binde in accordance with §§ 86 ff. Municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt . The incorporated community of Binde and the future districts of Binde and Ritzleben became the locality of the receiving city of Arendsee (Altmark). A local council with five members including a local mayor was formed in the incorporated village of Binde.

The Protestant parish and parish Binde belong to the parish area Fleetmark-Jeetze of the parish of Salzwedel in the Provostspengel Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
In 1903 the parish Binde, Kaulitz, the combined mother church Schernikau with the parish Kassuhn belonged to the parish of Binde.

Culture and sights
The Protestant village church of Binde is a flat-roofed field stone building from the end of the 12th century.
Economy and Infrastructure
At Binde there is a large pig fattening facility owned by the major Dutch entrepreneur Adriaan Straathof, who operates several other such facilities in the new federal states. The facility is approved for 30,438 animals and is to be expanded to 55,770. A citizens' initiative against the pig fattening system and its expansion has been founded in the village .
Binde is on the B 190 . The Binde- Kaulitz station is on the Salzwedel – Geestgottberg railway line, which was closed in 2004 .
Sports
With the screed bowling division, SV Binde was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga South / East in 2010.
