Kraatz is a district of the unified municipality and town of Arendsee (Altmark) and the village of Kläden in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark church village of Kraatz is located about five kilometers southwest of the town of Arendsee on the B 190 , which leads to Salzwedel , about 16 km away .

history

In 1322 the village of Kraatz was first mentioned as Vratz . In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the place is listed as Cratz , which belonged to the Arendsee Monastery .

Incorporations

On April 1, 1939, the communities of Kläden and Kraatz from the district of Osterburg merged to form a community with the name of Kläden.

After incorporation of the previously independent municipality of Kläden on January 1, 2010, Kläden and Kraatz became districts of the city of Arendsee (Altmark).
