history
In 1208 Zießau was first mentioned as villa slavica Szissowe when Margrave Albrecht confirmed his possessions to the Arendsee Monastery .
In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg of 1375, the place is listed as Czittzow or Czitzow , depending on the transcription of the manuscripts , which belonged to the Arendsee Monastery.
In 1457 Zießau was named as Cziczow in a document, when Margrave Friedrich the Younger confirmed his possessions to the Arendsee Monastery.
The village burned down completely in 1833.
Until the 20th century there was a forest guard at the southwest exit of the village. The forester who lived there was responsible for the Royal Arendsee Forest.
