Fleetmark is a village and part of the town of Arendsee (Altmark) in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark Kirchdorf Fleetmark located about 17 kilometers southeast of the county town of Salzwedel on Rademiner Fleet ditch. The northwestern part of the village used to be the village of Kallehne, the southeastern part was the village of Velgau.

history

The municipality of Fleetmark was created on April 1, 1939 through the merger of the municipalities of Kallehne and Velgau in the district of Osterburg . At the same time, the residential area (the village) Fleetmark was created - the names of the residential areas of the two former municipalities were no longer used.

In 1324, when Hans and Heinecke von Kröcher sold Kalbe Castle and the associated villages to Albrecht von Alvensleben , Molitz was first mentioned as Molyz and Störpke as Storbeke . The entry Calcouene in the deed could be interpreted as Kallehne. Lie was first mentioned in 1363. In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 Velgau was mentioned as Vellgove and Velegove , Kallehne as Colene and Calene .

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Fleetmark was reclassified from the Osterburg district to the Salzwedel district . On the same day, the municipality of Störpke was dissolved through incorporation into the municipality of Lüge.

On January 1, 1973, the municipality of Molitz was incorporated into the municipality of Fleetmark.

On January 1, 2011, the municipality of Fleetmark was incorporated into the town of Arendsee (Altmark) and established as a locality. The districts of the former municipality of Fleetmark and the present day town are Lie, Molitz and Störpke.

Economy and Infrastructure

A wind farm is operated in Fleetmark. Fleetmark has a stop on the Stendal – Uelzen railway line .

The field stone church Fleetmark (formerly Kallehne) is a building from the late 12th century.
