Administrative division of the Prince Archdiocese of Salzburg
This list describes the administrative structure of the Prince Archbishopric of Salzburg .
General
Below that of the central authorities, there were care offices and regional courts (which could also be city and regional courts), often referred to collectively as the care court . At the head of the nursing offices was a nurse , who was subordinated to a district judge. In the (smaller) regional courts, the regional judge was the highest official. As usual in the HRR , the separation of the administration of justice was not implemented. The offices were courts of first instance as well as administrative, police and tax authorities.
list
In the provincial capital of Salzburg, a city governor was originally the supreme state official. Since the early 17th century, this task was taken over by the town councilor. In addition, there were Salzburg possessions in Bavaria and the Habsburg countries, especially in Carinthia and Styria. However, since Salzburg had no state sovereignty here, the relevant administrative officials are not named here. Under Salzburg state sovereignty, on the other hand, was the possession of the cathedral chapter, which is also not mentioned here.
