Vindeby Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Lolland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Lollands Nørre Herred in what was then Maribo Amt , then to Ravnsborg Kommune in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into Lolland Municipality in the Sjælland region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .
192 inhabitants live in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). In the parish is the church "Vindeby Kirke".
Neighboring communities are Købelev Sogn in the west, Herredskirke Sogn in the south, Løjtofte Sogn in the south-east and Utterslev Sogn in the east .
The village of Vindeby is internationally known for the world's first offshore wind farm , which was built there in 1991 off the coast and has supplied around 2200 households with electrical energy for 25 years.
