WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2017 ( TLC 2017 for short) was a WWE wrestling eventthat was broadcast as pay-per-view and on the WWE Network . It took place on October 23, 2017 at the Target Center in Minneapolis , Minnesota , United States . It was the ninth edition of TLC since it premiered in 2009. For the first time, the event took place in the US state of Minnesota.

In the run-up to the event, seven matches were scheduled, including one for the pre-show . These resulted from the storylines shown on Raw , one of WWE's weekly shows , in the weeks leading up to TLC .
The main fight of the event was a 5-on-3 handicap tables, ladders and chairs match between Dean Ambrose , Seth Rollins and Kurt Angle on one side and The Miz , Cesaro , Sheamus , Kane and Braun Strowman on the other Page. Former NXT Women's Championship winner Asuka made her debut in the main rustler against Emma .
Two days before the event, the matches that were initially scheduled changed, as Roman Reigns (who was supposed to play alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in the main match) and Bray Wyatt (he had planned an individual match against Finn Bálor ) were canceled due to illness. They were replaced in their respective matches by Kurt Angle (Reigns) , who was returning to the WWE ring after eleven years, or AJ Styles (Wyatt), who actually belonged to the roster of SmackDown Live , the WWE's second weekly show . As a result, the reunion of the Stable The Shield (Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins) planned for the event as part of the storyline could not be implemented.

Notes on the event
- The following title change occurred during the event:
- Enzo Amore defeated Kalisto in a singles match to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship .
- Elias was defeated by this in his singles match against Jason Jordan . When the decisive pinfall occurred , however, he had raised his right shoulder.
- Kurt Angle was thrown through a table by Braun Strowman with a running powerslam during the main match . Because of this , he left the match for some time.
