The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.

Population development
Culture and sights
- The sights of the community include Hohenbrugg Castle , the chapel in the center of Weinberg and the one on the Nussberg. Both chapels were built in the 19th century. The former was restored in the 1990s.
- Since the border with Hungary used to run next to Hohenbrugg, there is a Maria Theresa stone there that marks the old border.
- As is customary in Southeast Styria, the two sports clubs and volunteer fire brigades often organize festivals throughout the year, which are usually well attended.
- Particularly noteworthy is the Weinberger village holiday Maria Visitation, which is dedicated to Saint Mary . The children of the congregation have a day off from school.
Nature reserve
Another attraction is the Raab-Altarm in the border area to Fehring, which was created in the course of regulating the river. The area is used by the population for fishing in summer and as an ice rink in winter. Large parts of the Raab Valley are protected by the “My square meter Raab Valley” campaign, in which residents buy land worth preserving. The old arms of the Raab in the cadastral community Hohenbrugg and their adjoining parts in the community Fehring are under nature protection (area NSG-39c). Are protected Altarmreste as spawning areas and food sources, reed zones , remnants of alluvial forests , dead wood stocks , etc. This area is called "nature reserve Raabaltarme Slate Hohenbrugg with adjacent land" and to protect the purpose of populations of rare animals and plants, such as the European beaver , otter , dormouse , Kingfisher , yellow-bellied toad , stag beetle , etc.
Economy and Infrastructure
At the end of the 1990s, a commercial center called the Green Lagoon was built by the communities of Johnsdorf-Brunn, Hohenbrugg-Weinberg and Fehring . The business park is located near the Raab oxbow lake, where the borders of all three communities meet. Some companies located in the area are based there. The residents of Hohenbrugg-Weinberg and the surrounding communities had high hopes for new jobs before the opening of the commercial center. In general, an upturn was expected in the entire region.
However, the “Green Lagoon” has not been able to meet its requirements up to the present day. There was no immigration from industrial companies or businesses of the targeted size, nor could any noteworthy jobs be created.
traffic
The community can be reached via the Styrian Eastern Railway . There is an ÖBB train stop in Hohenbrugg an der Raab.
education
There is an elementary school in Hohenbrugg an der Raab . Depending on the number of students, lessons are given in four or fewer classes. In 2008 a kindergarten was set up which is right next to the school.
politics
Municipal council
The municipal council consisted of 15 members and was most recently (municipal council election 2010) composed of mandates from the following parties:
coat of arms
The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from June 1, 1982.
The coat of arms is composed of a bridge, which is reinforced with battlements and a vine. The bridge with battlements represents the village of Hohenbrugg an der Raab. Since the border with Hungary used to be next to Hohenbrugg, the bridge symbolizes trade and exchange between peoples. On the other hand, the battlements on it represent the often necessary defense against enemies. The vine above the bridge represents the village of Weinberg an der Raab.
