The Westfalenwanderweg (self-spelling WestfalenWanderWeg ) is a 210 km long hiking trail in North Rhine-Westphalia , which is partially managed by the Sauerland Mountain Association (SGV). The hiking trail falls into the category of the main hiking trails of the SGV and, like all other main hiking trails, has the white St. Andrew's cross X, here extended by the letter W , as a sign .

It begins in Hattingen and leads via Witten , Wetter , Herdecke , Dortmund , Schwerte , Fröndenberg , Werl , Möhnesee , Rüthen , Büren and the Wewelsburg to Altenbeken am Eggegebirge . Only in the middle in the area of the Haarstrang does the path represent a new creation. From Hattingen to Schwerte it follows the Ruhrhöhenweg, from Rüthen to Wewelsburg the main hiking route 26 of the SGV. Then he uses the paths of the Eggegebirgsverein .
