From the Ederquelle , located in the Rothaargebirge in the Nauholz district of Netphen , the Ederhöhenweg leads through Erndtebrück , Aue , Arfeld , Hatzfeld , Battenberg and Frankenberg , over the Edersee dam and through Fritzlar to the mouth of the Edermünde at the Edermünder district of Grifte and then on to Kassel .

The trail is in the range of SGV (of the Eder source to Hatzfeld) with the white Andrew's Cross X as a way mark , at intersection points by the letter E expanded, and in the region of HWGHV (from Hatzfeld to Kassel) with a white E marked.
