Vladimir Georgiev ( Bulgarian Владимир Георгиев , at the World Chess Federation FIDE Vladimir Georgiev ; born August 27, 1975 in Dobrich ) is a North Macedonian chess player .

In 1991 he was in Mamania second in the U16 European Championship behind Andrei Istrățescu . He won the Bulgarian individual championship in Sofia in 1995 and the North Macedonian individual championship in 2007. He played for Bulgaria at the 1996 Chess Olympiad and for North Macedonia at the Chess Olympiads : 2002 to 2012 and 2018 . He also took part in the European team championships six times (1999 for Bulgaria, between 2003 and 2011 for North Macedonia). In the 2007 World Chess Cup he was eliminated in the first round against Bartosz Soćko .

In Germany he played for the USC Magdeburg , in France for the Club de Mulhouse Philidor , in Belgium for the team of Cercle des Echecs de Charleroi , with whom he became champions in 2012 , and in Norway for the Nordstrand Sjakklubb ..

In 1994 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM) and in 2000 the title of Grand Master (GM). He has held the title of FIDE Senior Trainer since 2014.
