Wolfhart VI. von Borsselen († April 29, 1487 in Gent ) was Marshal of France .

Life

In 1464 he is mentioned as Marshal of France, but in this function he did not leave any major traces in history. In 1468 he was Lord of Veere , Zandenburg , Vlissingen , Domburg , Westkapelle and Brouwershaven , Count of Grandpré , Earl of Buchan (as the son-in-law of the Scottish King James I ). In 1478 he became a member of the Order of the Golden Fleece .

Wolfhart VI. von Borsselen was buried in Zandenburg. He was the last legitimate male representative of the Borsselen family .

He was the son of Heinrich II von Borsselen († 1474) and Johanna von Halewyn.

His first marriage was in Zandenburg in 1444, Maria Stuart († March 20, 1465), Countess of Buchan, daughter of the Scottish King James I, buried in Veere . From this marriage he had a son, Karl (* 1451, † 13 years old in Leuven ).

In his second marriage he married (marriage contract of June 17, 1468) Charlotte de Bourbon (* probably 1449, † March 18, 1478), daughter of Ludwig III. , Count of Montpensier . From this marriage he had five children:
