The Austrian Music Theater Prize 2021 is the ninth award of the Austrian Music Theater Prize . The award ceremony took place on August 2, 2021 in Steyr as part of the Upper Austrian provincial exhibition at Lamberg Castle. Most of the nominations, in a total of nine categories, went to the Vienna Volksoper , four of them for cabaret and three for the Offenbach operetta König Karotte . The Graz Opera and the Salzburg Festival each received five nominations .

The prize was awarded in 22 categories in 2021, including a special prize for courage and encouragement in the pandemic, as well as awards for the best international music theater production and for international cultural commitment.
