Škoda Auto Deutschland GmbH , based in Weiterstadt , has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Škoda Auto as, based in Mladá Boleslav ( Czech Republic ) , since 1995 . Around 1,150 partner companies provided sales and service within Germany in 2019. In 2019, 208,171 Škoda cars were newly registered in Germany. The Škoda brand's share of new car registrations in 2019 was 5.8 percent. Škoda Auto Deutschland achieved sales of 4.1 billion euros in 2018. In 2019, Škoda Auto Germany employed 380 people including trainees.

Five months after the car manufacturer, which was still operating as Škoda automobilová, as , was taken over by Volkswagen AG , Škoda Auto Deutschland GmbH was founded on September 17, 1991 . The company is based in Weiterstadt near Frankfurt am Main .

The share of the Škoda brand in German new car registrations rose from 0.53 percent in 1994 to 5.8 percent in 2019. Whereas 17,084 Škoda cars were newly registered in Germany in 1994, the number of new car registrations is up to Increased to 208,171 in 2019. Škoda has been the most successful import brand in the German car registration statistics since 2013 and was seventh in the German car registration statistics in 2019.

While Škoda Auto Deutschland GmbH still had 95 employees (including trainees) in 1997, this number had risen to 380 by 2019. The number of dealerships and service partners increased from 587 in 1997 to around 1,150 in 2019. Its maximum was 1,522 in 2011.
