history

The discovery of a bronze sword in the Silesen moor in 1890 indicates an early settlement. In the 16th century the village consisted of 13 farms. In 1939 there were 348 residents in 38 apartments in Silesen.

Until 1945 Silesen belonged to the district and civil registry district Bulgrin (today Polish: Białogórzyno ) in the district court area Belgard. The last incumbents were: Mayor Berthold Klug, Mayor Wilhelm Lobeck and registrar Albert Wendt. At the beginning of March 1945 Silesen was occupied by the Red Army without a fight . The village came to Poland and today Żeleźno is part of the rural municipality of Białogard.
