Pustkowo [ pust'kɔvɔ ] ( German Pustchow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the rural community (gmina wiejska) Białogard ( Belgard ) in the powiat Białogardzki .
Geographical location
Pustkowo is located on a side road that connects the village of Nosowo ( Nassow ) on European route 28 ( Stettin - Danzig ) and the settlement Nosówko ( Nassow train station ) with Białogard, about seven kilometers north of the district town. The railway line Szczecin - Gdansk runs through the village, but the nearest railway stations are three kilometers away: Kościernica ( Kösternitz ) and Nosówko.
history
In the old days Pustchow was not only a farming, but also a fishing village. On the Düpt, a now silted lake, fishing was practiced. Until 1811, the farmers had to do castle services for the Belgard office, when they were canceled in return for tax. When the royal government sold the forest to private owners in 1830, forestry began to gain importance for the place.
Several splinter settlements belonged to Pustchow, u. a. the forest colony Pustchow (now Polish: Pustkówko ). In 1939 the community had 488 inhabitants in 128 households. The village belonged to the district and civil registry district Bulgrin ( Białogórzyno ) in the district court area of Belgard until 1945 . The last German mayor was Paul Beilfuß.
At the beginning of March 1945 Pustchow was occupied by the Red Army . The community became Polish . The German residents left the place or were finally expelled by 1946 . Today Pustkowo is part of the rural community Białogard .

Until 1945 Pustchow belonged with Bulgrin ( Białogórzyno ), Butzke ( Buczek ) and Silesen ( Żeleźno ) to the parish of Bulgrin in the parish of Belgard ( church province of Pomerania) of the Protestant Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German pastor was Paul Käding. - Today is Pustkowo part of the parish Koszalin the Polish Evangelical Church of the Augsburg (Lutheran) Confession . The place of the church is Białogard.
school
In 1834 the school house burned down. In the school year 1927/28, 19 boys and 29 girls attended the rebuilt village school.
