2nd handball Bundesliga 2017/18 women
Handball Bundesliga 2018/19 for women

The season 2018/19 the second handball league for women was the 34th in their history. 16 teams played for promotion to the highest German division. The season began on September 8, 2018 and ended with the last match day on May 18, 2019. HL Buchholz 08-Rosengarten waived a possible promotion to the 1st Bundesliga for financial reasons. Thus, the two next-placed teams from Mainz and Ketsch were the climbers. Accordingly, the only relegated team from last season in the 1st handball league was HC Rödertal . HSG Gedern / Nidda and TSV Nord Harrislee were promoted in the 3rd division .

mode

The mode was everyone against everyone with a home and away game. The league leader and the second-placed team at the end of the season were eligible for promotion to the 1st Bundesliga . Leader of the table HL Buchholz-Rosengarten waived the promotion, so that the third-placed Kurpfalz-Bären moved up as promoters. The last four teams were relegated directly to the 3rd division . In the event of a tie, the better goal difference decided.
