The Auto AG Schwyz (proper spelling AUTO AG Schwyz , abbreviated AAGS) is a chartered bus operation of Switzerland and was established in 1922 as a joint stock company founded and continues today 247 stops at. The bus connections lead from Schwyz to Brunnen SZ , Bisisthal , Gersau , Morschach , Muotathal , Lauerz , Oberiberg , Rickenbach , Seewen SZ , Steinen SZ , Biberbrugg , Rotkreuz ZG , and Arth-Goldau .

Vehicle fleet

Up until the 1990s, Auto AG Schwyz mainly relied on standard buses from the FBW 50U series . Many areas in the Schwyz district could not be reached with an articulated bus. Therefore, the bus company only owned an articulated bus - a Mercedes O 405 GN with the license plate SZ 60000, which was usually used on the Schwyz – Brunnen – Gersau line. These vehicles were replaced by low-floor buses from the Mercedes Citaro series. In 2016, 10 articulated buses will be used, mainly on line 2 Schwyz – Brunnen– Weggis - Küssnacht am Rigi and line 1 Arth-Goldau– Lauerz –Schwyz – Muotathal.

Line network

line 1

The line runs from Arth-Goldau – Lauerz – Schwyz – Muotathal. Line 1 was the first connection operated by Auto AG Schwyz.

Line 2

Probably the longest line is the so-called “Riviera Line”, as of the 2004 timetable change from the merger of the “old” line 2, Steinen – Schwyz – Brunnen – Gersau and the Küssnacht am Rigi - Greppen - Weggis - Vitznau - Gersau bus line of the shipping company of the Vierwaldstättersee (SGV). A year later, SGV also transferred the line's license to Auto AG Schwyz. The Steinen – Schwyz Post section has been run as line 20 since the merger. Line 2 now runs from Schwyz – Brunnen – Gersau – Vitznau – Weggis – Küssnacht am Rigi.

Line 3

Line 3 runs from Seewenmarkt via Schwyz SBB, Rösslimatt, Ibach Post , Mythen Center , Schwyz Post to Rickenbach and vice versa. The Ibach Post stop is only served in the direction of Schwyz.

Line 4

This line runs between Brunnen SBB and Morschach LMS (valley station of the Morschach– Stoos aerial cableway ).

Line 5

Line 5 is only served in summer. It begins in Schwyz Post and leads via Rickenbach Stalden, to Ibergeregg and on to Oberiberg . There is a connection to the PostBus network in the Einsiedeln area . The minibus that drives over the Ibergeregg is equipped with a post horn. This line is subject to a surcharge because it has not been supported by the canton since December 2015.

Line 6

Formerly part of Line 1, Line 6 connects the Muotathal Post station with Sahli, the valley station of the Sahli – Glattalp cable car .

Line 7

This line runs on the Schwyz SBB - Sattel - Rothenthurm - Altmatt - Biberbrugg route, where Auto AG Schwyz and the PostBus network around Einsiedeln are connected.

Line 9

Line 9 is Weggis' local and school bus . Before the SGV bus lines were integrated into the route network of Auto AG Schwyz, this line was operated by SGV. Wegmüller, Weggis, is the transport agent.

Line 20

Line 20 connects the Steinen train station with the Schwyz Post bus station. It was removed from line 2 as of the 2004 timetable change.

Line 28

The bus line 28 leads from the S-Bahn stop Rotkreuz SBB Nord to Küssnacht am Rigi , and then as TransRivieraExpress along line 2 to Vitznau, with stops at selected stops: Plaza, Hauptplatz, Küssnacht – Seebodenalp cable car, Honegg, Breitfeld, Weggis boat station, Acher, Riedsort, Unterwilen and Vitznau station.

Line 29

Line 29 runs from Küssnacht am Rigi via Udligenswil to D4 Business Village Lucerne . In the past, Merlischachen and Meggen LU were also connected to the Auto AG Schwyz route network via this line .

Line 30

Line 30 is one of Schwyz's two local bus routes. It connects the main entrance of the hospital with the Schwyz Post central bus station and the Mangelegg residential area. The Schwyz Post-Kollegi-Mangelegg-Hinterdorf-Schwyz Post route is only used in a counterclockwise direction.

Line 31

The second local bus line from Schwyz runs on the route Kollegi –Schwyz Post – Mythencenter – Ibach Post – Studenmatt – Oberschönenbuch. The route to Oberschönenbuch was integrated into the network instead of the existing school bus.

Line 71

Auto AG Schwyz's only express bus line (in cooperation with Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe ) runs from the central Schwyz Post bus station without stopping to Zug, Bahnhofsplatz. The line is operated alternately by Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe and Auto AG Schwyz.

bus depot

2001 the new bus depot in the Ibächler area "Diesel" was occupied. In addition to the parking halls, the new depot also has a washing facility. The administration and workshop of Auto AG Schwyz are also located in this building. The old depot on Schwyzer Schützenstrasse went to Victorinox .
