history

In 1958, today's AMF-Bruns GmbH & Co. KG was founded by Gustav Bruns († 1993) as BRUNS KG in Apen . At the beginning, the business purpose was the manufacture of agricultural machinery . Erich Bruns († 2014), son of Gustav Bruns, joined the company one year after it was founded. From 1962 the company specializes in conveyor systems . The production of agricultural machinery was thus discontinued. At the beginning of the 1970s, AMF-Bruns expanded its specialization in the area of ​​mobility and began manufacturing lift systems and person support systems for people with disabilities. The Friesoythe branch was founded in 1973 to cope with the high volume of work. In the 1980s, capacities were more than doubled through expansion buildings and investments in new machines at the Friesoythe and Apen locations. In 1993 Jürgen Bruns and in 1995 Gerit Bruns, both sons of Erich Bruns, joined the company. In 2005, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system “ProAlpha” was introduced in both operational areas to support all company processes . In addition, the subsidiary AMF-Bruns UK Ltd. was founded in 2005 . Founded in Great Britain and in 2006 AMF-Bruns took over the Dutch Smartfloor BV On August 1st, 2012 Gustav Bruns GmbH & Co.
