In the Stanley Cup playoffs 1999 he was appointed as an OHL player for five games in the squad of the Maple Leafs and also completed three playoff games in the American Hockey League with the St. John's Maple Leafs . Shortly before the trade deadline in March 2001, Mair was transferred to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Aki-Petteri Berg with a second-round vote in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft .
During the 2001/02 season Mair went on the ice in 18 games for the Kings, he also played 27 games in the AHL for the Manchester Monarchs , the rest of the season he missed due to injury. In the summer of 2002, the Kings decided to transfer Mair to the Buffalo Sabers together with a five-round vote in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Erik Rasmussen . After this change, Mair never played in the AHL during his engagement in Buffalo, but was always in the Sabers NHL squad. After his contract expired in the summer of 2011, the Canadian was initially without a club before he signed a contract with the Springfield Falcons from the American Hockey League for the 2011/12 season . Previously, the striker had unsuccessfully participated in the Philadelphia Flyers pre-season , but without recommending himself for a commitment. He finally retired in the summer of 2012 at the age of 33 and was appointed Director of Player Development at Canisius College , which participated in the gaming operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association .
