Heinrich Karl Ludwig Adolf von Glümer (born June 5, 1814 in Lengefeld , † January 3, 1896 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a Prussian infantry general .

Life

origin

He was the son of the Prussian captain a. D. Christian Ludwig von Glümer (* 1772) and his wife Wilhelmine, née Spohr.

Military career

On March 1, 1831, Glümer joined the 26th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army , where he was promoted to Second Lieutenant on June 14, 1832 , and attended the General War School in 1835/38 . From 1842 to 1843 he was assigned to the Guards Artillery Brigade and then to the topographical department of the Great General Staff . Between 1847 and 1851 he was adjutant of the 7th Landwehr Brigade , took in between 1,849 to the campaign against the insurgents in Baden in part and in 1856 as a Major in the General Staff of the 11th Division , 1858 in the VI. Army Corps transferred.

After the campaign, Glümer became the commander of the 32nd Infantry Brigade in Trier and took command of the 13th Division on July 18, 1870 .

Glumber married Karoline Herzog on June 29, 1847 in Halberstadt. The later Prussian Major General Weddo von Glümer (1848–1918) emerged from the marriage.

Glümer had been an honorary citizen of Freiburg im Breisgau since 1892 . Streets in Karlsruhe, Pforzheim and Freiburg were named after him.
